Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
hi was hoping for a bit of advice,
brandy has recently been brought inside to live but im worried he is a bit hot. His cage is under a window and we have trned the radiator off in the livingroom but when he comes out for a hop about his breathing becomes very fast i'm just worried he is maybe to hot as when he was outside his winter coat had started to come in, any advice would be great thanks:wave:

I would suggest offering things that he can use to cool himself down if he wants to. I have found bricks are brilliant for this. If you are worried about his breathing then it might be worth getting a vet check to rule out other problems.

thanks for the advice.
we have just had the downstairs toilet tiled with ceramic tiles and have a few spare so will pop one on the sofa and see what he thinks of it. I'm not worried about his breathing in general as when he is in his cage his breathing is fine just gets really fast after he has been out for a while. At the moment he only gets access to the sofa till we can cover all the very tempting wires behind the TV. He is so funny he loves my OH and is all over everytime he is out

Might be worth getting him checked out by the vet if he carries on..just to rule out a cold, respiratory infection etc.
