Pet care costs to be tax deductible in the US?

Not specifically rabbit related, but in the US a politician is sponsoring a bill which would "allow any taxpayer who legally owns one or more domesticated animals to take an annual income tax deduction of up to $3,500 for pet care expenses, including veterinary care costs.".

That's around £2,000 per year.

There's no indication as to how likely the bill is to progress, but the mere thought that a politician would sponsor something like this is exciting.

Thats good if it works like i think it does it will mean more animals get the health care they need.

I just hope it dosnt mean people will buy pets thinking they wont need to pay for there care.
