Dribbling but no obvious problems to vet? Help! U/D All better!

Hi, wondering if any one can please help me!
My rabbit has a wet chin but he has seen two vets one which is a specialist and neither of them saw ulcers or burs in his mouth. :?

My rabbit is going in on Mon morn to have a GA so they can check for a loose tooth.

Has any one ever had a rabbit that just dribbles a bit? (Please:()

Failing that what are the possible out comes of this? Any experiences greatly received.

I'm going out of my mind with worry. He is on a near perfect diet, has lots of space and is supposed to be getting a wife on the 10th from Starlight Rabbit Rescue but seems to be throwing new illnesses up just to avoid it:(

Many thanks and if OK will post in health too as am desperate for ideas, as I have had dental buns but never experienced this:cry:

My Tabby dribbled at one point when there was nothing wrong with her but I think she was run down..... she only did it for a day or so.

She dribbled again but she had spurs.

Defo get your bun checked out properly.

It doesnt take long for them to lose the will to live if they stop eating and I am afraind dribbling is one of the first signs :?

That's the funny thing, he is eating and binkying and seems perfectly happy:?

Hopefully the vet will find out on Mon though.

I too have been concerning about Mischa dribbling as he has a patch of fur under his chin that is wet and a bald patch too. We've been in about it before and the vet thought that maybe something was irritating him as he could see no tooth troubles and he had been sneezing on occasions but has stopped that now. He eats fine, although he does pick at his food (am in the process of changing over to pellets but he's stubborn) but I am going to go in and make sure they check all his teeth properly as I have a funny feeling the vet only checked the front (am starting to wonder if these vets are that good :?).

Just a small thing to add but Amber gets a wet chin when she gets a little stressed on the way to the vets (she knows, you know!)

Seems like a stupid suggestion but do they have a water bottle or a bowl?

My two sometimes get wet faces from drinking from their bowl - just a thought?

Sorry to hear about your bun:(

Feegal (my rabbit) has not sneezed or any bald patches.
Please go to a specialist rabbit vet as one of my old rabbits was pts because the vet was a stupid :censored:
I now have a really good vet who also seems to care about animals as well.
Bizarrely although we have to drive half an hour away, he is also cheaper:)

Hi, not stressed. One chilled bun:) He eats well and binkys well:) so not in to much pain I think.
He does dribble when he is on his way to the vet too. Looks like the worst dental bun ever the:roll:

Not stupid at all:)

He has both. Is it possible for you to explain exactly where they get wet?

His is under his chin where the skin goes in, between the jaw bones. Cant see it unless he is standing stretching up.:?

Just a thought - but does your bun drink from a bowl or bottle? I've replied in the Health section again re. common medical reasons but just wondering if 'bowl' drinking is giving him a wet chin? Mine both have bowls and our male dips his whole chin in to drink so can sometimes be damp there for a littlel while after.

That is a possibility. Am going to take his water bowl out today. He seems to prefer it but can and does drink out of his bottle so he wont get thirsty.
That way I can check if it dries up (please) or not and then I'll put his bowl back in tonight. Thank you.:)
Also could you explain where he gets wet. Feegals is under his chin where the skin goes in between his jaw bones. You can only see it when he standsa and streches up.

Are you sure its not just secretions from his submandibular gland ?

:wave:I know they have glands to mark with but I did not know it secreted a liquid. Well not that we could see. Is it secreted from the bit I explained in previous posts? Do you know of any pictures of it anywhere? Thank you:)

I'm going to have a phone around a few places tomorrow see if I can work some things out for a better vet. I have noticed that it has improved recently which may be coinciding with me giving him a bowl as well as a bottle but I'm still going to get his molars checked.

If you can give us an idea of your location, someone on here maybe able to recommend a good vet that they have used.

My bun dribbles sometimes but he has serious dental disease. This was only found out after having x-rays on his head. He has elongated tooth roots which press on the nerves causing him pain und discomfort which make him dribble. He also dribbles sometimes when he has a spur(s) on his teeth. When he starts dribbling I take him as quick as I can to the vets to check if he has a spur or whether its his roots playing up.

Feegal had GA and the vet found some spurs right at the back. All filed down now and hopefully he will be fine. (Until the next time:roll:)
