Do litter trained house rabbits smell?

Hi,
I am new to the site and i currently do not own a rabbit. I am thinking about having a house rabbit however am concerned about whether or not they smell? I have been advised by various people that rabbits, or rather their wee, generally tends to smell quite considerably, and this is something that is currently putting me off having one. I am looking at having a rescued rabbit which is approximately 2 years old and has already been neutered. If they use a litterbox with megazorb or equivalent in does this reduce urine odour? Or does this not really make much difference? Rabbit odour is going to be a big thing for me as i dont want visitors coming into my house and turning their nose up at the smell as i would be keeping the rabbit downstairs in our main living areas.
I am aware that rabbits can be quite distructive and chew through just about everything and i am therefore also thinking about all the different things in my house which need bunnyproofing.

Any advice that you could provide would be much appreciated

Many thanks :D

Any new bun will scent new surroundings when they move in, but after that and as long as they are litter trained and you empty and clean the trays out at least once a day then they are not smelly.
My Kermit lived in my living room and you wouldnt have even knew he was there. Herbie & Inca stay in my spare room and now that they are litter trained you dont smell a thing.....although they did scent the place for a couple of days when they first came.

neutering lowers smell and a good cleaning routine i have 4 indoors and all my place smells like is fresh hay they get cleaned every 2 days anylonger and they will smell

Thats great, thank you so much for the advice.
I have been thinking about getting a rabbit for quite a while now but wanted to keep it indoors as i felt that i would spend more time socialising with it than if it was kept outside

Yep, definitely agree that neutered rabbits smell less. I've got a recently neutered male and an un-neutered female living in my house atm and they have a strong musky scent, whereas my other indoor rabbits only smell when their litter trays need changing

Rimmi doesnt smell and he isnt even neutered yet..... :)

But we cheat and use wood based cat litter that I change often so it doesnt get a chance to smell :D
