Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Unsure if rabbit is drinking

Charlie has been drinkin quite a bit more than my other 3 rabbits, hes paired up wit another rabbit, and they have a big waterbottle, but it is constantly almost empty if i fill it up at night and then wake up, and im sure its charlie drinkin the most

and the last week or so hes had a very wet bum, it was wet with Urine so i dried it but 4 days ago it was really really bad so i gave him a bath and it continued for 2 days, i took him to the vets yesterday and theyre doin blood tests, and also gave me a medicine because she said it could be a paracite, although they r indoors all the time she said it would be good to use it to be safe

but since yesterday late afternoon i havnt seen or heard him drink, he usualy bites at the bottle altho water comes thru easily enough, a fair bit of water has been drank, looks to much for lola to of drank by herself but im unsure on what to do :S, he hasnt had urine on his bum for 2 days now either, and when he was running around the house today i did see him at the dog waterbowl a couple of times tho i think i disturbed him lol,

he seems just as happy as ever still, and hes eating fine, bit stumped on what to do or how to check he definatly isnt drinking.

My thoughts would be to separate bunnies for 12hrs.Measure a bottle of water at the time you give it.Measure again at time you want to change it after 12 hrs or whatever. It will indicate how much water he has drank.
Good luck.xxx

thts a good idea but i havnt got anywhere else to put charlie :( i had one spare indoor cage but ive lent it to my cousin for a while
