Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Panacur

pancur comes in a syringe, but I cant seem to find any info about doseage. I just wanted to know if 1 syringe would treat my 2.5kg bunny for 9 days or if I'd have to buy 2 or more?

actually, there appears to be different types of wormers. Which is the cheapest way of doing it? I have a 2.5kg bunny and 2 6 week old babies who are probably about 500g. They dont register on the bathroom scales so I'm going to have to buy some kitchen scales to double checktheir weight

Does anyone know what is the youngest Panacur can be given?

I gave mine Panacur when I first got them - they were 10 and 14 weeks - they are due for another one, it was three months ago - thanks for reminding me:D Though at that age I had to have the liquid syringing stuff, rather than the paste, as they were too light.

Oh that's good, I think my three are coming up for it in October so I can give Smudge his then too, he's about 13 weeks now, so by then he'll be well old enough.

Yes one syringe can treat one rabbit over 2.5kg for 9 days or two rabbits under 2.5kg for 9 days.
