I would like to bond two related snuffle bunnies. How does it work?? what is it exactly?? It makes me think of mouth pieces and gas cylinders!!! Is it expensive??

a nebuliser is a mask for the rabbits which helps them to breathe i believe it gives them oxygen/medications. ask jacks jane she would know for sure. not al lrabibts need nebulising so i would consult a vet first. x

when i was having troubles with Ralph the vet had said about a nebuliser, it was £90 to but then you had to buy the medication after that.

A nebuliser basically converts a liquid to fine droplets which the bun breaths in. This thins thick mucus which blocks the nose, & some Ab's can be put in the liquid, to kill bacteria "hiding" in thick secretions, at the same time as giving oral Abs. This is used for recurrent snuffles.
It can be given to a bun in a plastic crate (see matts test results are back - Biscandmatt1 - Rodney vet posts a photograph of a bun being nebulised) This is the commoner method in the U.K. With the advantage that the bun can be distracted with some favourite food.

It can also be given by a face mask (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IWyfXLaZts)

I am currently nebulising Viola Rose (who has myxi). I am using a wire mesh carry crate wrapped in cling film and a nebuliser we bought for £55.

We can either use plain saline (salt water) or F10 which is a mild disinfect/abx I believe. You can also add in other meds.

Its is doing wonders for Viola Rose's nasal congestion.

There is a photo of VR using her nebuliser on post 89 of the thread about her and her myxi.
