What's Lenny crossed with!?

Jaysmonkey

Wise Old Thumper
Hey,
Lenny is a 12week old mini lop cross. His only mini-lop features however are his ears :p
He has very long features, including limbs and body. His Back feet are gigantic and his face is rather pointed and long. These are the best pictures I could get as he likes to fidget abit too much, and I couldn't get a head-shot since he has teething problems and hates his face being touched :(.

Also when he hops about his bum is so high in the air its ridiulous!

Any help if possible would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks!

Here you can see his face shape quite well.

Look at the size of those Feet and the length of that tail!!

He's got a VERY similar body/face shape to my Rory, who is a Lionhead X Mini Rex..

You can't really see the body shape too well 'cuz he's lying down, but you get the idea..

He looks like a butterfly dwarf lop to me :D dwarf lops tend to have a more pointed face than mini lops. He is very pretty

hmm hmm after much browsing.. I notice a very similar resemblance with Lenny of a Papillion o.o.. in terms of length, long features..and pointy face.

Its very hard to see this from the pictures so I'll try get more..

Hmm is mini-lop/papillion cross even possible? Let me know please :p
I'm rubbish at this stuff !

Thanks again for the replies.

Papillion are very large bunnies, I can't imagine anyone with half a brain cell would mate to such different sized bunnies

I'd say its possible that there is some Papillon in the gene pool.

I have a Bun who is the result of a Rex x English Lop (Doe- approx 5kg) and a Dwarf Lop (Buck- approx 2.5kg) mating. So a considerable size difference

Hopefully as your Bun has a longer face he may not be as likely to suffer from the Dental problems many 'shorter nosed' Lops can develope as a result of the shape of their skull

I agree three...he looks just like a young dwarf lop with butterfly (pappillon is just french for butterfly anyway!) markings. I think he looks a bit out of proportion at the moment just because he's a youngster :)

Sadly he has Malocclusion dental problem :( and we believe this is down to genetics as he has continuous supply of hay which he's always munching or trying to! In his case he will be having his incisors removed.

Thanks for all the suggestions :D also to note he's very skitty in comparison to my other bunnies!

what size/weight is he at the mo?
I wonder if there is a bit of frenchie in there?

If he's skittish then I doubt Frenchie is in there...also they have the cobbiest heads and a very chunky build. I'd say he's crossed with a leaner breed.

ok, took lenny to the vet for another dental check-up. In two weeks time he'll be having his teeth removed and also will be getting castrated!

So the vet we went to see specialised in bunnies. Apparently lenny is a designer bunny and he certainly has dwarf lop in him (no mini-lop), apparently netherland dwarf too (probably explain why he's so skitty) and at least two other larger breeds. So this explains his dental problems really.. they are genetic :(

Thanks for all the replies and lovely comments! Your help was much appreciated! :D
