Pepsi's People
Alpha Buck
Trooper has not been himself since Lillie passed away. We are attempting to bond him with our new bun Buttercup but it’s not gone well so far.
She will be his third companion, both Lillie and Pepsi before her bonded really quickly & easily with him. He is neutered and about 3 years old.
Buttercup is 10 months old & was spayed on the 6th July. She was in the rescue because she had been fighting with her mum.
Their first meeting took place at the rescue supervised by one of the carers. As soon as they were together Buttercup mounted him & was immediately pulled off by the lady from the rescue :?. This happened several times, each time she was pulled away. After that Trooper stamped each time she approached him and she backed off. On the evidence of what I had seen I thought it would be ok to adopt her and carry on bonding them out home.
Now they are both home it’s been fighting every time they are put together and I’m wondering where to go from here. It’s hard to tell who starts it, it all happens so quick. Yesterday in the kitchen it got progressively worse and ended with them lying on their sides biting & kicking at each other until I pushed them apart.
Today they went out in the car together sharing a storage box. I took them to the bathroom this time and everything was fine until they calmed down from the journey. After that it was business as usual. They get nose to nose and then one launches at the other. I called it a day when Trooper jumped up and clung onto me to get away from her .
Any suggestions?
Mike
