View Full Version : Vibes needed please -- Gladys my french lop (she's gone)

19-08-2009, 12:18 AM
As gone into stasis, I have just got back from the vets:cry:. Sher as had all the usual and I am doing everything at home as she just wouldn't settle without Nigel so I am doing the monitoring, syringe feeding and everything else that goes with it throughout the night.
I am sure My Giants are telling me I don't deserve a break on Thursday:roll:

I have just been syringing her and she is eating some Parsley:D. I think Nigel is sick of being disturbed as he turned his back on me just now as if to say 'Please let me get some sleep':roll:

Gladys has just passed away on the way to the vets:cry::cry:. I went to give her her fluids and syringe feed her at 10am and she just didn't seem right so i scooped her up and took her to the vets.
Poor Nigel wonders what is happening:(. She seemed to be doing great through the night and seemed to pick up:?.
I certainly wan't expecting this:cry::cry:

I am so sorry Kay. I am sure you will have done everything in your pwer to help Gladys and treated her just as well as vet could have. She got to spend her last hours with the people and bunnies that loved her and you cant ask for more than that.

19-08-2009, 12:24 PM
I am so sorry about Gladys. I agree with Snowberry, you did everything you could and it was better for her to be in a familiar environment with those that she loved.

19-08-2009, 01:29 PM
I'm so sorry. :(:( It's easier said than done but try not to blame yourself. I'm sure you gave her as much care as the vet would have and Gladys would have been much more content at home with people (and husbun) who loved her, rather than in a strange place.

Sleep tight Gladys. xx

I'm so very sorry Kay, please please don't feel bad as you obviously did your very best for her and sometimes i think bunnies are better off at home. The fact she picked up shows she was happier at home and perhaps at the vet she may have passed sooner. At least she had nigel to keep her company. I think you did the right thing. perhaps she had something more serious that you could have done nothing for.
thinking of you and Sam sends you an extra special big hug xx

19-08-2009, 04:41 PM
So sorry Kay, please don't feel guilty you gave Gladys a wonderful home, with all the love and care a rabbit can have, given the chance most of us would treat our buns at home if we could, instead of taking them on stressful journeys when they are ill.

19-08-2009, 04:52 PM
I am so sorry Kay x
