Do Rabbit Warrens in the wild collapse?

Just wondering as I was watching some of mine excavate a rather beautiful tunnel, just made me think do they dig too close to the surface and they collapse? :?

I think they can do in heavy rains etc.

Most rabbits would choose to build their warrens amongst the tree roots so that they act as a framework, not always possible though :lol:
