Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Eye problem?

Hi

I checked over Pebbles this morning and noticed a small 'fleshy' lump on the front corner of her eye...pic doesn't show it very well unfortunately...

Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas what it could be? It doesn't seem to be causing her a problem and it didn't bother her when I touched it.

Also she has developed some crust on the fur around the same corner of the eyes...I managed to simply pick this off.

She has a vets appointment on the 18th so I will mention it then if it remains harmless.

Thanks :)

I can't see very well but it looks to me like normal 'sleep' in the eye - a mild discharge that has solidified and just needs wiping away with a damp tissue...she could have a slightly blocked tear duct, or it could be a little skin tag or cyst? it's hard to tell....it doesn't look overly suspicious to me...but i'm not a vet and I can't see it that well in the pic....sorry.

Looks a bit like sleep, but i would keep an eye on it :)lol:) and if it gets any worse or if her eye starts to look red then take her to the vets for some eye drops.

Maybe try gently wiping her eye with a cloth soaked in cooled boiled water and see if it moves it out?
