how do all the other single bunny parents out there cope? money is a bit tight at the moment (as i'm sure we all know) and i like to buy fresh herbs for barnes but they go off so quickly, does anyone have any tips on keeping veg and herbs fresh for longer?

i do try to buy veg and herbs that we both like, but i always seem to end up chucking stuff into the compost bin!!

If you have a garden you can grow a lot of bits yourself.
If i have run short of veg, i just go on a walk around my garden.

I grow..
Mint
parsley
raspberry canes
lemon balm
dandelions (i dont weed my patches of dandelions)
leave an area of long grass to grow
I can usually find something for them.

it does also help with the cost

I stick mine in some water on the window ledge, and tend to get longer out of them. cut 1/2 inch of the bottom, and stick them in a beaker. Failing that get some seeds and dedicate a bit of your garden (or pots) to herbs or bunny foods. If in the garden they often shoot runners or set seed for a bumper crop next year. Just make sure mint is in a pot, otherwise it will take over :)
