Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Flora's babies

Flora

Young Bun
I have really sad news that all 3 of flora's babies have died.
It turns out that all 3 of them were peanut babies. ( they were around 3 - 4 days old.)
1 went on Friday morning around 5, 1 went on Friday night around 12, and the last one this morning around half 4. It has really upset me because of them being really young, and the conditions i saved them from. And knowing that nothing could be done about it . i just kept them warm and close to me, so they were never alone and it was so hard to see them going down so fast.
I am concentrating now on getting flora up to 100% health wise. ( as some of you know that there is a chance of her being pregnant and them due the end of August, being of September). She is doing well so far with her eating ( she can't get enough down her :)), drinking and the bonding process is going well. She is also starting to play with toys and coming up to me when i sit on the floor.

I'm so sorry you lost the babies....but sadly this can happen. Well done again for taking such good care of Flora....I hope she can mend some of your sadness. :)

Sorry to hear about the babies. The odds really were stacked against them but you did all you could to help them. I'm glad to hear that Flora is progressing well though.

Did you manage to rescue the male rabbit?

Thanks for your replies.
I havn't managed to get the male yet., i am still working on it. Its complicated ( not in my mind though as they cant be bothered ) as the male rabbit is the sons ( even though he only visits on a saturday). But am trying to make him see sense, that his rabbit will be going somewhere nice.
