primrose cottage - run?

poppymoon

Wise Old Thumper
does anyone know whether a run can be attached to the primrose cottage hutch?
the website lists a run for the primrose den and orchard manor. just wondered if anyone has a run attached to the cottage and if so, which one? (doesn't need to be rabbit sized height as its for guinea pigs)

p@h website recommends this one for primrose cottage

http://www.petsathome.com/find/product-is-22476

but personally it looks a bit on the small side.

Have you thought about fixing some avairy panels together on their sides

these guys even do rabbit runs http://www.westhagleyaviaries.co.uk/panels/panels.htm

or here

http://www.rvwoodcraft.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=23&osCsid=bc8ciae6m0t97ld41b8bkt8ks6 which again do their own large runs

If you have the space and money then I would really recommend spending on a large aviary, as it is much easier to clane out and your buns can have 24 hr access if put on a concrete type base, which results in a happier bun all round

i looked at that one but i'm not sure it would fit the primrose cottage as it states its for the primrose den and orchard manor.

it's not for a rabbit btw (eric's a spoilt free-range house rabbit, i couldn't keep a bun in a hutch:oops:), its for my guinea pigs. they already have 2 large runs but i was looking for something extra to attach between the hutch and the 2 runs they have so that they can come and go as they please during the day rather than wheek madly at me if i'm a bit late getting them out:roll:

thank you for the links tho:)

depends on if it permenant or not.

My runs are joined together with 2 2 1/2 inch screws on each side, so 8 in total.

I then have another three on the top, one end is screwed into position with 4 screws, fixing it to the main run, the other two then have three hinges each panel, so it consatinas open.

It is then fixed to the hutch with hasp locks, so if I fancy giving them a change then I can just move the run.

I can't now as the run is huge, as I joined 2 set ups together, so I have 2 of the large zooplus runs from above!

thanks for that:D think i'll be giving hagley a visit (try and dodge the old ladies with bicycles and shopping baskets tho;))

I've got aviaries from West Hagley. They are 9ft x 6ft each and you can have the hutch free standing inside. The hutches in the photo are a double 6ft and a single 6ft

they look great:D. bit excessive for my piggies tho as its just for the 'summer' - they have an 8'x6' shed for the winter. did you find west hagley reasonably priced?

Yeah, probably a little too excessive for piggies

I found West Hagley to be really good. I couldn't find aviary panels cheaper locally. Also some suppliers wanted an absolute fortune for delivery, but WH have a capped delivery fee.

The wood used isn't particularly thick, but you can strengthen it yourself with batons of wood once the aviary has been built.

The mesh is a lot thicker than the sort used by Happy Hutch and is fixed on with proper rounded fencing nails rather than cr*ppy staples like some panels/hutches

I would have thought that if it is for the primrose den then it is also for the cottage - as as far as I know they are identical in size except the cottage is on two stories - so the run would still fit?

Hi...nope.... it doesn't state that the run is compatible with the Primrose Cottage, so it does only go with the Primrose Den and Orchard Manor. I do know a couple of people have bought the run and managed to do a spot of DIY to get it to work though.
