  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Morning

Need advice for my rabbit, last night I put a 'Parsley Bell' treat in Rubens cage at 7pm, my intention was to take it out a bit later...however I had done so much yesterday I went to bed without thinking.

This morning went to feed him, and realised I had left it in there, he had probably eaten half of it

I went to give him his usual pellets and he only ate one, which is VERY odd, then I realised that maybe he has probably ate too much of this treat...left him hay, going to see if he has ate any of that in a min.

Should I be concerned? This is the link to the treat:

Is it the same as if I had eaten a load of cake and feel bit queasy :lol:

eeeeek feel guilty now

My two like the Parsley Bell too and quite often "pig out" on it! I guess you just need to keep an eye on him for the next couple of hours and make sure he takes some hay at least and is still drinking and pooing. Hope he's ok!
