Rabbit friendly vets in Gloucestershire?

Hi there,

I am at the end of my tether looking for rabbit vets in Gloucestershire, preferably Cheltenham, does anyone know any?

If not does anyone know how to find a good rabbit vet?

Bun due to arrive on Monday and I was to register him and get him vaccinated.

Many thanks!

Hello,

I've got a rabbit savvy vet in Dursley but that's probably a bit far for you?

The lady who boards my rabbits when I am away has one in Quedgely I think so I'll ask her for details if that is near enough to you?

Good luck with your new rabbit!

Also in gloucestershire, I'd recommend Blackberry Boarding (www.blackberryboarding.co.uk) if you are going on holiday and need somewhere for your bunny to stay. My bunnies get so spoilt there they don't want to come home!

Plus, I'm not sure where you are getting your rabbit from but if you decide to get him a friend I'd recommend the rabbit rescue at wind whistle warren. www.windwhistlewarren.org.uk

Wow, thanks for all the Gloucestershire adivice people!

Will def have a look at the boarding site as I am going on holiday in a month, you must have read my mind :)

Hi, you have probably figured this by now but the rabbit savvy vet that I use is Jason Burgess of Wood vets in quedgeley, they also have a branch surgery in Longlevens which is slightly nearer to Cheltenham for you. Well worth the extra time in travel as Jason is very good. That said I have heard that Honeybourne are quite rabbit savvy - one of the vets there one of my clients go to and they said he was lovely and really new his stuff. Don't know his name but I am sure if you gave them a ring and said you wanted the vet that has his own rabbits and has a special interest in them they should know! Honeybourne is in Cheltenham so if distance is an issue they may be worth considering. And by the way I also do rabbit boarding in Gloucestershire and spoil the buns thoroughly so if you are stuck let me know and you can come and have a look before you decide to board!
Good luck with the new bun... Nicola

Hmm, the only thing I know about Honeybourne is that is where my foster buns went for their vacs before they came into rescue.

The vaccination cards I was given with them are cat ones and it says one of them has had an HVD vaccination and the other HVC. I know it must be VHD but that and the fact they don't have rabbit specific cards led me to think that they couldn't be rabbit specialists?

Am registering Rimmi at Woods on Monday. Experience and knowledge beats cost, should I need it lol.

Any of you vacced your buns there? Just wanting to know what sort of price I will be paying so I dont fall over when at the vets!! :)

Ps, Rimmi says "thank you all for your help, its nice to know I have some bunny medical person in case I get sick!! xx"
