does anyone grow plantain from seed for their rabbits? just going to do my hay experts order and get the usual bunny greens seeds etc but wondered whether to try plantain too?
how quickly do they grow (indoors) and do bunnies generally like plantain?
my bunnies love plantain but Ive never tried growing it from seed.
 Bunnies LOVE plantain but it is high in protein so you should feed sparingly rather than a massive handful at once. I grew the ribwort variety once but only one pot and it was polished off pretty quick! It grew fine in normal compost and quickly enough, just not as huge as it grows down by the river or in the fields nearby - so I find it easier to go and pick some and dry it at home - otherwise I buy it online like you!
Wild plant/weed - ribwort and broad-leaved varieties - can feed whole plant. When you pick a leave it has a 'stringy' texture - which helps to identify it.

Otherwise known as ribwort (has long bunny ear shaped leaves from a central point and they have ribs in them from the tip to the base). I don't need to buy seeds as I have so much growing in what used to be a very nice front garden and is now like a jungle. I knew there was a reason why I had never gotten around to doing the weeding.
