Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

damp fur around eye??

I just noticed that the fur below Charlotte's left eye is slightly damp. She had been laying beside the water bowl, so it could be that. But I was wondering what it could be if it's her eye watering?? I'm going to check it again in the morning to see if it's gone or not. Any ideas appreciated!

So strange - I came on here to post the exact same thing! Nermal's eye was very damp this morning, and he wasn't opening it properly. It seemed quite sticky. He's better now he's been up for a while, but i'm still taking him to the vet tomorrow...
Damp eyes scare me, but i suppose it could be anything from something irritating it to conjunctivitis...

Thanks for the thread - very helpful!

The fur is completely dry now, so I think she must have gotten wet at the water bowl but I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure. :)
