We have another 2 poorly buns and we are very concerned about them.

Firstly Emmy-Lou our cancer bunny is refusing to eat :( She was fine a few hours ago but then her poos went tiny and she didn't want her tea. we think there maybe traces of dried blood in her run but we can't be sure. There certainly hasn't been anything fresh in the last 2 hours :? We have given her extra pain relief and hope this will perk her up as it has in the past. If it doesn't the outlook is bleak

Tegan is also in need of vibes. She too was fine this afternoon, in fact she was helping me cut the grass ( I use the scissors she ate it  ). About an hour ago we found her in her run unable to use her front leg properly :? As she is already disabled with a deformed leg she is now having great trouble moving around :( We don't know how she has done it as her run is completely flat. Again we have increased her pain relief and we are keeping a very close eye.

If there is no change in the morning both buns will be seeing the vet first thing for emergency x-rays.

Please can we have vibes for our 2 bunnies in the hopes that they will both be feeling better in the morning, because if they are not we are not sure what the future holds for them:(

Thank you everyone.

Despite doubling her pain relief Emmy is still in a lot of pain :( She has pulled herself through episodes like this before so we just pray she can do it again.

Thankfully Emmy is eating again this morning :D I don't know how she gets herself through these episodes as she is clearly doubled up with pain. I think we will wait a few days to get her x-rayed as i would rather get it done when she is feeling well.

Tegan is bright but is still having trouble getting around so has been fitted in at the end of morning surgery.

Thank you everyone for your vibes :)

Steve has taken Tegan to the vets now, while I clean out a lovely abscess

Guess who drew the short straw this morning

Not good news for Tegan :( there is no injury, he disability has taken a turn for the worse and there is no chance of improvement.

Her muscles have deteriorate in her shoulder so she has lost proper movement in her front leg as well now. It looks like she will continue to deteriorate from now on :(

The vet said it is similar to someone who can go to bed feeling perfectly OK and wake up unable to move due to a stroke, but in this case it is muscle related not neurological. I had no idea a disability could suddenly do that :(

Tegan is bright and eating and not in any more pain, so we will just see how she manages to get about and take one day at a time. She is quite a hyperactive bun and not at all cuddly so I am not sure how she will cope :?

Emmy-Lou is booked in for x-rays on Monday morning.

We had so much bad news about some of our bunnies on Monday when they were health checked, but Emmy and Tegan weren't 2 of them, they were doing OK and now this has happened :(

Not a good week for the Rainbow Rabbits

I know I don't 'know you' yet being a newbie but I've been reading your various threads and it seems so unfair that you're going through so much with your rabbits at the moment. :(

You obviously love them so much ....

Sending vibes to your poorly buns and am thinking of you x

(I've cleaned out abcesses on ratties and though I'm not a 'sicky' person it always made me feel ill! It's a horrible job... usually ending up in a squeaking ratty having a cuddle and me crying 'cos I felt awful for upsetting them even though it was for the best.. and the bathroom covered in Vetzyme powder and Hibiscrub.......... so my sympathies go out to you!)

I'm so sorry you're having this run of bad luck. Think you're amazing people for caring for older, ill / disabled bunnies, & giving them such good quality of life. It's not just the amount of care needed, it's the frequent heartbreaks when their time comes. My thoughts are with all your poorly bunnies, as well as you both.

I'm so sorry about all that's going on at Rainbow Rabbits this week. I hope that Emmy Lou gets better soon, and that Tegan stabilizes and lives on with you guys for many years to come. You guys really deserve a break, and I hope you're getting the rest you need over there, Liz. xxx

How are our other bunnies doing?

Sending lots of vibes for everyone at Rainbow Rabbits. xxx

Thanks Sara. Tegan seemed happy enough in the run this afternoon and Emmy has nibbled a bit of food now :)

As for the other buns, Where to start?:lol:

Emmy is nibbling food but is still in a lot of pain :( She is also at the vets at 11.30 for an x-ray. If it is bad news there is the possibility that she wont be coming home either :(

We are also taking Elwood to the vets as he has somehow managed to do something to his mouth so he is unable to eat properly :? He is such a crazy boy I hate to think what he has done to himself :love:

The post mortum has confirmed that she had a tumour in her stomach and some small tumours in her lungs and her chest cavity and abdomen were full of fluid as a result:(

If this gorgeous bunny had been neutered by her original owners she would still be with us now :cry:
