Some exciting news for a change!/ more info post 13

I have had a phone call from my vets, passing on a message from Jen the lovely rabbit vet who left our practice a few months ago.


Apparently they have a specialist visiting opthalmologist attached to her new practice. He is doing research into bunny eye problems ( I don't have any other details than that :lol and jen has asked if we would be willing to let him study some of our special bunnies

I need to ring her in the morning for more details, but I do know that he would visit the bunnies here in their own home so there wont be much stress for them and could actually be very helpful for them

It all sounds very exciting. I will update when i know more about it

Just been in touch with Jen.

It is a professor from Cambridge who is doing the research with a student. He is the same person who does the opthalmic talks for the RWAF conferences. He also works with the person who did Eddie's eye op so that will be interesting.

They basically just want to go somewhere so they can see lots of rabbits eyes. They don't have to have any particular problems, they just want to do a sort of survey on common rabbit eye problems. Obviously with the type of bunnies we have there will statistically be more than the normal amount of bunnies with eye problems here.

I will be very interested to see what he makes of Eddie's eye op and how successful they consider it to be :? We have also had it confirmed that Fuzzy has suddenly gone blind despite no apparent changes to the apperance of his eyes, so again that will be of great interest to us

Hopefully the Professor will be in touch shortly and we can have our bunnies seen soon as apparently they are very keen to get moving with it
