Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
hi can you tell me how much it is to get a rabbit neuted and how long do they have to stay at the vets and how much care do they need after it please thanks

Hi....the cost does vary from vet to vet ,you could phone around and ask prices but it would be good if you used a vet that you know is experienced with rabbits.

My vets charge £48 for a spey and £42 for castration bunnies usually only stay in for the day unless they've had problems recovering in which case they stay in overnight.

Our vets charge in the region of £65 for a female neuter (spay) and £55 or thereabouts for the less complicated male neuter.

This is about the norm around our area for a competent rabbit savvy vet.

my blue went in yesterday to be neutered it was £42.09 droped him off at 830 and picked him up at 4.he has to go back today for a check-up.
the spay at the same vets is £58.00.

i would recomend you ring round though and ask some questions, beacuse my origanal vets didnt know much about rabbits.

I have been quoted £50,but could be nearer £60 per bunny up here in North Yorkshire, which to be honest I thought was alot.

That is for a castration.
