Can hay be too dry?

Hi All,

Just a quick question...

We have a HUGE bag of hay on the balcony here, but as it has been very sunny recently I am noticing the hay is starting to get very dry.

The buns are still eating it without complaint...I just wandered if it was ok for them to have very sun dried hay?

As long as the hay was not in the sun in a plastic bag it'll be fine.

Hay is made by cutting and drying out grass. Its warm damp conditions such as hay in plastic bags left in direct sunlight that can be a problem (mould/mycotoxins)
