Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vets in South Yorkshire

Please can someone recommend a good vet in the Doncaster/South Yorkshire area?

It will soon be time for Smokey to be neutered and I am very nervous about it and would rather go to a vets that has experience.

Thanks alot
Louisa x

Someone from Doncaster at last!!!!!!:lol:
I used to use a small practice but after they told me my dogs teeth were fine ans she was just getting old i then had to spend £350 getting 23 teeth removed which i was very unhappy about (but she is well now!)
I now go to vets 4 pets on wheatley hall road, they have seen my bunnies for their injections/healthchecks over the past 4 weeks....the man there really knows his stuff and gave me a full biology lesson on rabbits the first time i went, and the lady vet is so nice (she hugged me when i had to leave my dog there for her teeth out when i was sobbing!)

Dumpling is going in to see the plum fairy in 4 weeks, they quoted £60 plus i think it was £18 for his meds afterwards.

So glad there is another Donny person on here! we can swap tips on offers we see etc!

Hi Louisa we use Crookes vets in Sheffield but they also have a branch in Rotherham, but I don't know of any rabbit savvy vets in Donny I'm afraid. Jane the vet we use is fantastic & a real people person as well as being a good vet :), that said there is one vet who shall remain nameless that I have complained about :?

They normally charge about £47 for a neuter op inc meds & Jane has done nearly all of our neuters / speys over the last 12 months. If you want more details let me know, but I don't know how far / long etc it would take you to get there & you need to balance the cost against this & if it would stress Smokey if the journey was too long, Denise

Another (dare is say it ) Donny bird!!
Maybe we will all bump into each other one day there!:)
Whereabouts is everyone from then?

Thanks everyone!

I'm from conisbrough and I'm gonna use vets for pets. I've just been today to register my buns, Smokey will be de-plummed on Thursday (poor thing!) I am so nervous for him!
