Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What could it be?

Alpha Buck
hi all,
My bunny which I got in October 2008 has been sneezing the first day I got him. He is a neutered male of 9 months old now. He eats hay fine, nuggest and poos all good. However he has been sneezing everyday consistently.
He has been on baytril twice, another antibiotic which starts with "M" (cant remember name) but was in a powder format to sprinkle over food, plus he has been on the septrin (banana tasting children's antibiotic) as well as recently 3 injections of betamox as he has had a culture and sensitivity test and found that he has Bordetella bronchiseptica in his nasal passages. However he still has not gotten rid of the sneezes. I think they have been reduced, but still not gone. What could be going on within my bunny?
My vet has suggested x-rays and a refferal to a bunny expert in a different city.
Any ideas anyone? Ive already asked if it could be an allergy, but my vet said no. Please help! Im scared my bunny wont recover from a GA after x-rays!
