  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

just returned from vets with Lucy. she got her tear ducts flush and apparently quite a lot of pus came out. have also been given eye drops for her. positive news is that her teeth are ok! she's still sleepy and is lying on a heat pad at the moment!

thanks, yes Lucy has now started eating, it seemed to take her ages to recover from the sedation so glad she is showing signs of getting back to her usual self! now waiting on poos!

hi Maizey, Lucy is a lot better thanks. we got her eyedrops in ok and then reunited her with her warren. she is 1 of a group of 4 and lucy is the smallest. i have spent the day in the garden keeping an eye out on her as she is the odd one out in the group. there is a large hay box on the upper level of the run and when she went in it she got chased out! the other buns have been coming over to sniff her as she will have different smells from the vets and being indoors last night.
