New Kit
My family and I rescued an approximately 3 to 4 wk. old cottontail 5 weeks ago. She has seen a vet and is thriving on the kitten formula. She shows no interest in anything else at approximately 8-9 wks. now. She eats bits of dandelion greens, but has no interest in hay or pellets to date. I'm wondering about when and how to wean her and looking for helpful hints.
We have never had a rabbit and certainly not a wild/baby one. She is very sweet and content, although I do wonder if she's getting enough excersize? She is very active at times and very sendentary at other times. She has recently become averse to being picked up ( I've talked to a "bunny" lady whom explained their instincts re: that). We like to let her roam, sometimes she must be in one of her 2 cages though and getting her there without picking her up can be challenging.
Also any hints on litter box training would be appreciated. Thanks, Cecelia, "Chip" & family
