The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Neutering tomorrow

Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I have 2 bunnies. Peter is 2 years old and Mopsy is 14 weeks old. I eventually want to bond them but I definately don't want to breed them so Peter is being neutered tomorrow.

I just wanted some after care advice really. He is an outside bun and has a big hutch with direct access to a run on the grass. I have cleaned out his hutch and put a fleece blanket in there instead of the wood chippings for afterwards so its nice and soft for him. Will I need to keep him quiet in his hutch for a while or will it be ok to let him use his run as usual? He loves his run and practically lives out there.

I am very nervous for him.

I would keep him in the hutch for 24 hours and if all is well then let him out.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for him!

Thank you.

Forgot to say that the hutch has an upstairs and a downstairs. The downstairs bit has a door that leads into the run. I can close the hatch so he can't go down the ramp. Do you think this would be best?

Yeh I would stop him from using the ramp just for 24 hours. You dont want anything where he will be stretching and he will probably be a bit wobbly for a few hours anyway from the GA.

Keep the bunny confined to one area and bring inside if possible. Don't use any sawdust or megazorb so it doesn't get stuck to the wound. Hope it all goes OK.
