is japanese maple ok or not for rabbits

what it is that my parents are doing a run for there rabbit and there is a small japanese maple growing in it. they are concerned that it maybe poisnous but they are unable to find an answer. websites say that maple is ok but this is a normal maple. it has really dark purple leave and is a japanese maple.

I know what you mean though, like the Acer Japenese Maple trees? Very fine and dainty. We had one but it didnt live long... shall try and look on the web for you xXx
