  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My sis's two buns Annie and Abbie got spayed today and were discharged at 4pm. My sis has just checked on them and found Annie's wound was bleeding and she seemed to be shutting down? She is rushing her back to the vets as we speak so I am awaiting news.

Annie is such a gentle little soul so can I have any spare vibes you have please to get her better.

Sis has just rung. He thinks things have maybe not been tied off properly inside? He's not really sure at this stage what is going on. He is putting her on a drip and monitoring her at present. Anyone got any ideas of what has gone on?

Keep the vibes coming as she is really poorly bless her. Fingers, paws and everything crossed.

Sis has just rang me to tell me that Annie has stopped bleeding. She is on a drip and on pain relief and will be monitored through the night. Further update tomorrow :(

Latest news on little Annie. She has stopped bleeding and her tummy is all a bit bruised from the blood. They think they may have gone through a muscle during the op or something? Anyway, she is not eating and not pooping. They are syringe feeding her at the moment and giving tummy rubs. The have also administered gut stimulants, pain relief and antibiotics - quite a concotion for such a little bun. She has turned her nose up at all her favourite, swede, dandelions and grass etc.

They are keeping her in another night so can we have loads of pooping and eating vibes please x

Poor little bun bun. At least they've stopped the bleeding; hopefully she'll feel like eating soon. Sending lots of vibes. xxxx
