Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Something is the matter with Dwight :/ .... U/D Friday Morning

I noticed it yesterday afternoon...Dwight just isnt himself. After work I feed him and let him out and he just stayed in the corner of the living room and wouldnt move, which is very unlike him at night. He NEVER is inactive at night. I bought him some new veggies yesterday, so im thinking maybe he is ill from what I fed him. He seemed fine this morning so I thought maybe it was a small bug, but now he is the same way this evening. He ate the food I gave him this morning, he is pooping normal and urinating, the only thing is he is not eating the food I gave him after work today...hopefully he will eat it overnight. I did notice that he seems to grind his teeth a little, could that be a sign of something? I will take him to the vet after work tomorrow, but I just want to see if anyone has any idea what this could be!! Thanks

Since he grind his teeth, and assuming he didn't do that before, that means he's in pain.

If he is eating normally, the most common cause is a over grow molar or teeth growing towards the upper jaw or abnormal angled teeth. See photo. You need an x-ray to check that. REduced diet is a strong sign of teeth problem

Teeth Overgrow photo from Dr. Frances Harcourt-Brown's book.

His teeth grinding does suggest some type of pain, but I certainly wouldn't jump to the conclusion of dental problems

It may just be a simple tummy ache from different veg. I would certainly get him checked at the vets to see what they say.

Sending vibes to Mr Dwight xx

Thanks for the advice!

Tell me what you think....

For the past two night he seems ill...but for the past two morning (including this morning) he is fine (active, hungry, etc.) ! He is still eating, drinking, pooping and urinating, but for some reason the past two nights he seems "out of it". If he seems odd again tonight I will take him to the vet...Its so weird!
