  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Sammie Advice

Dumpling

Warren Scout
Sammie and Dumpling are in the same cage. About 2 weeks ago i had to seperate them from sooty as they where constanly humping because i thought she was a he but he was a she. Dumpling keeps humping Sammie chasing her and nibbling at her fur especially around her eye. She has had it in the past but it cleared up after i took Smudge out (her brother) Dumps has nothing on him either they are handled every day well several times a day and i would have noticed anything on them.. I am going to get a new cage tommorow but what should i do for tonight. All but 2 of angles babys have gone and they are in a seperate hutch. I could put them in a carrier for tonight or put Sammie or Dumps in a playpen but i know that they will be able to jump out.

female bun must be spay or else they will have 80% chance of uterus cancer after age 2. Male bun also must be neuter if you want them to live longer
