Ok to have girl spayed during humping season?!

Young Bun
Hi, my 9 month old girl Dolly is booked in to be spayed tomorrow. She has been humping her husbun Sooty for the past few days so I don't know whether its ok to separate them for a few days after her op as I've read that the humping is an important part of their bonding/dominance routine.

We will let him be around her rehab cage whilst she is recovering but will not let him in. Do you think it will be ok to separate them during this time - just a bit worried about maybe needing to bond them again after? :? Thanks!!

Personally I would keep them together. I always do and I believe it helps the Does recovery as being seperated is an additional stress ontop of the operation.
If you do seperate them then you may well have to re-bond them again.

Good luck :)

Thanks! I was hoping you would say that as I don't like separting them at the best of times! They miss each other even for a few minutes if one of them goes hiding. Sooty is very mild mannered anyway so I don't think he will hurt her.

The only thing will be stopping her from jumping around too much - don't want to keep Sooty couped up in a recovery cage - hmmm. Will have to work something out! Thanks for advice!!

Dolly's gone in for her op now :-/ Sooty is home and looking all over the house for her, he looks so sad, wish I could do something!! And he's got his VHD jab later :( My poor buns - if only they knew it was to help them.

Think I will keep them together when Dolly gets home...
