Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Drooling Bunny Whilst Grooming

yoshi&gizmo

Alpha Buck
hi all is this anything to be concerned about? i was giving gizmo a good groom tonight and each time i moved him to do different parts there would be a wet patch where he is drooling whilst i am grooming him. I checked his teeth but i don't know what i am looking for so i read through some posts on here and can say he is still eatting and drinking fine and his poos are normal.

but he was drooling loads whilst being groomed. His chest is dry though :?

any ideas and does it require a trip to the vets [they look at me like oh not her again any time i go down there but i can't help but worry about my lovely bunnies :(] if not what do i need to do??

Drooling can be a sign that the back teeth need burring. If he continues to do it then I would take him in for a check up.

:wave:thanks for the advice. I have been keeping an eye on him and now i am not sure if its his nose thats wet or his mouth. :? Either way whatever it is, is clear and he isn't sneezing or sounding snuffly so maybe it is his mouth will phone vets tomorrow just to get him checked i think. Rather be safe than sorry
