Anyone else up late worried sick about their bun?

Nobody on here will know me but I have been a serial lurker on this forum for several years so I feel like I know a lot of you!

I have 2 buns. Rosie was one of the 'dreadful day' bunnies from Honeybunnies, and Radish is from Barnsley animal rescue.

on fridaynight when I came home from work I noticed Rosie was sitting with her head to one side.

In the morning, though her head was straight again she was drooling really badly. She had her teeth done in december so I thought it may have been that again. She wasn't eating or drinking.

I took her to the vets and she has an abscess under her bottom jaw. I lost my first rabbit to abscesses when I was little so I know the prognosis isn't good.

She's dosed up on meds but the vet didn't do anything to the abscess, is that right?

I have syringe fed her science recovery, water and baytril but she didn't swallow it as far as I can tell.

She's now lying very still in her tunnel with her chin on the floor, she never lies like this.

I'm scared of what I'll find in the morning :(

im sorry *VIBES*
I know how it is staying up with sick animals niot knowing what was gonna happen.
Its horriable

If its a mandibular abscess then she most probably requires surgical intervention. Skull radiographs and a full blood profile would give some information as to the extent of the infection and if there is already osteomyelitis insitu.
Is surgery planned for your Rabbit next week? I very much doubt that systemic antibiotics alone will be of much benefit. Systemic abx are unlikely to penetrate the abcsess as the abscess wall is so inpenetrable.
If your Vet is not proposing surgical intervention I would strongly advise you to seek a second opinion elsewhere.

I do hope that your Bun has been prescribed good analgesia aswell as antibiotics ?

Good luck and lots of vibes for your poor Bun x
