creating a grassy area on paving slabs?

Diegos run area is all on slabs and i would like to put a large grassy area over almost half of it... up til now i have used a container to have soil in it, but i want to make something that will fit the area, but still keep it contained

any ideas??

can i use some sort of liner with a border built around it?

You can get large plastic trays about 4ft by 2ft from garden centres that sell greenhouse equipment. these can hold compost and turf. you'll need to put holes in the bottom for drainage. If you get a couple you can rotate them to allow them to recover from the bunny onslaught!
