Dumped rabbits story in Birmingham

Two rabbits, that were saved from certain death by a member of the
public out horse-riding, are looking for new homes.

One adult and four baby rabbits were spotted in a wooded area in
Woodgate Valley Country Park, Birmingham on 28 February. Their heartless
owner drove into a remote wooded area and dumped their pets out of their
cage into the wild.

"These rabbits didn't stand a chance as pet rabbits simply will not
survive in the wild, " said Animal Collection Officer (ACO) Scott Vanes.
"There was sawdust near where they were found so I am sure they were
dumped directly from their cage. They were absolutely terrified. They
were hiding under bramble bushes so it took me some time to collect them
all."

The male white rabbits were taken to RSPCA Birmingham Animal Hospital
for treatment. Three of the baby rabbits, thought to be two months old,
have found new homes but the adult rabbit and one remaining baby await
new homes.

The RSPCA recommend all pet owners to have their animals neutering in
order to avoid unwanted pregnancies.

Poor bunnies.

How heartbreaking is this - I get so upset when I think of how these bunnies must have felt - and how awful their lives must have been living with someone who cares so little with no compassion at all!

I am so glad these bunnies were taken in, thank god there are people out there to pick up the pieces and give them the love the deserve. They are definitely better off now!
