  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Squeaky Bunny

Scamps Mummy

Young Bun
Hi all

Our 1 year old bun, Scamp, for the last day has been letting out a little squeak / whimper when we pick him up. He doesn't have any lumps and seems fine - he's eating, pooing, running round the garden normally so seems happy. He's only been doing this for a day. Does anybody have any ideas what this could be x

If he is use to being picked up and never minded it then I don't know but my Julie never liked being picked up and will wimpier and cry like someone is hurting her. I only pick her up when I have to but she always does this. Could it be that he just doesn't want to be picked up because he is so busy playing in the garden?

Possibly because he's having so much fun , but he's doing it when he's indoors as well. He has always been easy to pick up but never whimpered til today. We'll keep an eye on him and if he keeps doing it will speak to vets on Monday
