Joey doesn't look like a lionhead...

I'm confused. Joey and Scooch are brothers, but Scooch's fur seems much more lionhead than Joey's. Scooch has the big puff on his chest, light furry patches on his ears, and the patches of fur on his hips. Joeys coat has a little bit of light fur on his neck inbetween his ears and thats it :S Apart from that his coat is very smooth. So I am confused :? can Lionheads be smooth coat?? I don't care much but am just wondering.

One's probably has a single-mane gene (not so fluffy and will sometimes lose mane altogether) and the other probably has the double mane gene (much more fluffy). I have one of each too:)

lionheads litter mates all vary, some are born really fluffy and some aren't plus females will pluck there's out for nesting and it doesn't grow back. luckily my teddy kept hers.

Sophie is my lionhead lop!! so is Charlie. Both came from different places. But a name tends to mean nothing esp with back street breeders, as they can't trace parentage back far enough.

Hi, I have 4 lionheads and two seem to have 'extra' fur and the other two seem smooth with just a tuff of 'extra' hair around the head. They are all related!

I have two lion lops. I was from a pet store  and the other was off a breeder.

The one from the pet sure looks like this this is YOSHI

The other one looks like this this is GIZMO

They both have very different coats yoshi is more short haired and gizmo is long haired but yoshi is a softer coat. Yoshi did malt him mane out but it did grow back [which i believe some don't] but gizmo is just all fluff at the moment :lol:

:wave:hi, lionheads are a breed that have a lot of variation in litters and I believe that a double mane bred to a double mane will have 50% double mane, 25% single mane and 25% no mane, and a single to a single is 50% single,25% double and 25% no mane, and a single to a double have 1/3 single, double and no mane.:? i think that is about right...i have forgotten:oops: hth
