  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is she fitting?

Emmy-Dan

New Kit
Due to Daisy's hutch outside needing to be replaced we decided to bring her indoors until the spring. She is in a C&C cage measuring 4 grids by 2 grids with plenty of toys etc.

Last night I noticed some strange behaviour from her that I haven't seen before.:? From a sitting position she will suddenly throw herself down onto her side. It doesn't matter what side. She lays there for about 20 seconds then jumps up again. She seems to be doing this every 20/30 minutes or so. Is this some sort of fit?

Otherwise she is eating and drinking well and shows no other signs of anything being wrong. Please if someone can advice me as I am growing more and more concerned.

Sounds more like a 'happy flop' to me.

As long as she is not continuously restless and looking 'uncomfortable' (which often indicates tummy pain) and she is eating and pooing normally I think you are just observing a happy Bunny :)

Aww bless, rabbits love to bounce around when they are happy.
I remember the first time i saw my bun do it and i thought she had gone mad.. i mean was a scizophrenic rabbit with her happy dance.
dont worry and enjoy it.

You have a very happy bunny!!

Is there any way she can stay an indoor bunny? She obviously loves it!
