Who wishes their vet was more rabbit savvy? I'm guessing there's quite a few of you.
I just wanted to share something I've done recently which I believe will benefit rabbits, especially if more people did the same thing.
During a consult I handed our vet a leaflet on the RWA/RWF's Annual Conference which is being held at the end of February. I asked if anyone was attending from the practice. He said that one vet would probably not go as she was currently studying for an extra cat qualification but that he was interested and looking for an extra specialism himself. I then said that I would be going and obviously from a customer point of view would really like for someone from the practice to attend. I left the consult with him reading the leaflet.
Since then I have printed some info from the RWA website and posted it to the practice manager with a short cover letter.
I'm really hopeful that someone will attend the conference which will mean that they are more up to date on rabbit medicine and stay informed. Coming from a paying customer I think it means more than the charity contacting them directly.
If anyone wants copies of the info I sent just pm me with your email address and I'll send it along.
Just image the message it would send to the veterinary community if we all asked that someone attend the Rabbit Conference. And all for the cost of a stamp.
