  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dylan is going in to be castrated on Wednesday. Do i need to do anything different on Tuesday before he goes in on Wed? I was reading on here NOT to starve him the night before, what about the morning before he goes in? Its days away and im worrying my self already about what could happen to my baby, im such a worrier. Will he be in much pain when he comes home? :censored:

My bunny was done on Tuesday and he was a little quiet afterwards but was back to his normal self this morning. I took him in at 8.30 and they rang at 9.50 to say he was finished and had come round ok. I fed him as usual Monday night and he had access to Hay all night but I didnt give him any pellets in the morning, mainly because we were in a rush leaving and I didnt have time! He was eating within an hour of coming round and wsa pooing by the time he was home.

Try not to worry, im sure your vet willl do everything they can to put your mind at ease.
