Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vet appointment tomorrow.....

FudgeMallow

Mama Doe
Just booked Fudge into the vet as she needs her teeth checked!
It will be four weeks 2morow since her last dental and she is grinding her teeth! She is fine, eating and pooing fine but she occasionally gives a little grind so i think its best to check just to make sure!!

She normally gets a few carrotys (Natural range treat) a week and was wondering if i should change to every 2 weeks she can get one or two an should i use homemade treats or her pellets as a treat instead?

I hope all goes well tomorrow and she doesnt need a dental, fingers crossed!!

Thanks for any advice :D:wave:

good luck with the check over. my bunny use to do this in his sleep and i felt the need for a check up. turned out he had grind enough to make his own teeth to sharp

I have just taken mine today for his 4 weekly bur (molars). Best to get checked out before any spurs cut into cheeks or tongue.

Good luck.

If it is her molars that are the problem then she needs hay/grass to help keep them down. Carrots and twigs can help to keep incisors down I think - someone might come along and confirm.

It is her molars that are the prob this is her 4th dental in just over a year (not too bad i suppose)
She doesnt eat hay the little madam  Wish she would but i am going to try her on grass and see if she prefers that!! :D:D:D

Homer won't eat grass either which is why he end up having conscious dental every 4 weeks. Have you tried the hay cakes from hay experts.

Alternatively they do some "grow your own" which grows really quick and will help to keep teeth down a little I guess but you really need a garden full.

:DJust back from the vets and he said her teeth dont look to bad and there are no spurs! Ive to go back next week and see then if she is wearing them down enough to go 6 weeks without a dental!

So happy, i thought she would of had to stay, thats the worst thing ever i hate leaving her:(
But thats another week down :D:D:D

Because i have reduced her pellets to a teaspoon a day and upped her veg intake she has been given more freedom at night and when weighed today she is 2Kg so she has dropped 0.15kg :D:D she is a mini lop what is there ideal weight?
Im trying to get her to the correct weight, although my vet said she is fine and doesnt need to lose anymore!:D:wave:
