  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I am so pleased, I have to share!

Ollie had his first trip to the vets yesterday for his first injection and a general check up. The vet was excellent, very knowledgeable (although I knew nearly everything he talked about thanks to this site :D) and handled Ollie well.

His teeth (Ollie's not the vets LOL) are excellent, no malocclusion, he had good gut sounds, he is a good weight and is on a good diet. The vet gave him his VHD jab and we are going back in two weeks time for his myxi jab. The vet also cut Ollie's nails on my request, although they were more pointy than long.

So relieved and pleased that we are clearly doing a good job with Ollie, who is also a very placid, tame and friendly bun.

Thanks to everyone on this site for all the knowledge I have on rabbits and rabbit care. :thumb:

Yes thought we could all do with some.

Forgot to add that I was really pleased with the cost as well - £30 for both jabs and a full examination.

Thats great news, and such a great price!! I pay roughly £35 for both jabs and get free check ups but you've bagged an even better deal hehe very jealous! :D:D
