neutering age

Young Bun
May be a silly question, but is there a specific cut off age of neutering a rabbit or is it okay for any rabbit over 4 months?

Also, apart from feeling for a scar, is there some way to determing whether a female rabbit has been neutered?

Thanks in advance,

Harris

I wouldn't say there is an upper age limit for spaying as long as the rabbit is healthy :)

It is very difficult to tell if a rabbit has been spayed. There is not much of a scar left when they heal up so the only way to tell without operating would be to have an ultrasound. Even then you might not get a definate answer.

Thanks Pegasys, kind of had that feeling but nice to get that thought underlined by someone with more knowledge.

Hmmm, Vets soon then.................

Also say your rabbit sprays becuase he is not neutered if you leave it too long the spraying (or anything else like that) then it will become a habit and even after the neuter they will still spray :)
