  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Mama Doe
amber is a continental giant that i adopted off of christine at animal lifeline, yesterday when i was cleaning out she went over onto her side and didnt get up straight away:cry::cry: she was eating at the time, I had to help her up, ive bought her and bailey indoors because im anxious today when i let them out she did it again:cry::cry: and now im really worried, she,s eating fine and poo,s are normal, she,s only about 2 years old, any idea,s as to why this is happening, she,s got the vets tomorrow

Poor Amber
I would keep her relatively confined until she is seen by a Vet. She may have injured her hips/spine.
EC is another possibility.
Hopefully your Vet will be able to make a diagnosis after examining her and prescribe treatment that will help.
Sending get well vibes for her :)

I have had a lot of problems with my conties but I cant add to anything Jane has said except I hope Amber hasn't got a bacterial infection.Sending massive recovery vibes
