  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

BunnyBoo

New Kit
Rabbit keeps making weird noises its like a growly noise but its reslly low and soft almost as if she is purring what could it be im just a worrier lol

How old is your bunny? My little monster starting honking when he was 5 months.... it means "oooooooh, I lurve you!" I think I read somewhere and it's a sign that they are reaching "bunny puberty"? I remember hearing him honk one week and his goolies had dropped the next!:lol:

Now he always honks - especially when he follows me down the hallway! "honk honk honk honk"

haha mine does that but its more of a "hummm hummm hummm". he'd do it before he'd attempt humping my arm or leg. since he was neutered last week he hasn't done it! shame....it was quite an amusing noise!

Yes my french lop used to do that and get hold of the hem of my long skirt carefully in his mouth and run around me in circles while still holding it. I really missed that after he was neutered. He looked so cute.

Kermit does it loads, mainly when im playing, but he is known to just walk about sounding like a wee pig!!
