  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vet recommendation in York?

Alfster

Apologies if this isn't allowed, but can anyone recommend a good bunny savvy vet in York? Only moved here recently and don't know of any vets yet.

Hi Alfster, I'm in York too!!! I use Abbeyfields on Bishopthorpe Road. My two boys were neutred with them and they really looked after them. Not been to see them about anythign else though.

i used to live near york and if your not very close to harcourt-brown, then there is Matt Brash. He has a practice branch in Pocklington, but also has other practices nearer york (cannot remember exact location). His practice is called Battleflatts so you should be able to find website and/or phone number. I can personally recommend as i had a very very poorly bunny go to him and he pulled her through for which i am eternally grateful! Its matt himself you want to see as he is the exotic specialist. Hope that helps.

He's the vet who is on the telly! He is across the road from where I work! Is it Zoo Vet at Large he's on? Can't remember. Also there is a great vet who I use in Market Weighton called Swanvale. It's about a twenty five minute drive from York.

Wow, hopfully we wont need a vet soon but its really good to know there are some good vets near us. Thanks guys!!! I love RU!
