  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

bunnyrun

Mama Doe
we have a little 8 yearold minilop doe unneautered in at the moment who ive noticed has blood in her urine

is this a sign of uterine cancer:cry:

its definetly blood and not just colouring

Yes it is a symptom of UC, especially as you can actually see the blood
I would get her to your Vet today.
Sending vibes for her

yes or possibly vhd either unfortunatly it oculd also be a uti but is less likely hopefully an emergancy spey coulddpossibly stop it?( tho if it is blood its likely quite far gone :()

I was told they would a 80% chance of having uterus cancer at age 2. I never seen a bun who have uterus cancer at age 8 when she's unspayed.

Since age 8 is a senior age, the rate of cancer should be slow. So if the uterus is removed, the chance of survival, i.e., not cancer cell spreading should be very high.

Is that an 80% chance on an unneutered doe developing uterine cancer at 2 years old? That's awful!

Good Luck! Hope she pulls through!

Hopefully just an UTI if it's just blood.

My vet has told me that uterine infection usually presents as thicker, smellier discharge.

but if it has already reached the stage of blood in urine the cancer is likely to be quite far progressed adn may likely have already spread to other parts fo teh body sadly at age 8years teh rabbit is likely to have already had cancer for a number of years develooping slowly until this point i do hope the rabbit can eb helped by a vet xx
