  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

worried about bob

Alpha Buck
hello everyone.i got up this morning to feed my buns and when i went into the basement to feed bob and moo he was nowhere to be seen.usually i call him hermit bob because as soon as i put his food down his beautiful but grumpy head comes shooting out from underneath my husbands toolbox on legs and gives me a very amusing growl.he is very territorial over his food, but this morning he didn't even appear.i looked around to find him layed out in a completely different corner of the room(which i know is nothing major but is a little unusual for bob)
as i write now the little monkey has just come bounding into the living room!!!he actually looks quite perky now so i feel a bit daft:oops: but you know when something is just not quite right don't you?!you notice things that go against their usual routine.any way i guess i am a big worrier but i did lose two of my gorgeous boys within 3 months at a young age last year.so i am always very cautious at the first signs of illness.i have brought him upstairs with his stuff so i can observe him, just to make sure.but as i said he seems to be quite cherpy now-i guess he just got out of the wrong side of his toolbox this morning!
is it normal for me to be such a worrier???i feel a right plonker now!

Awwwwwww I know what you mean. I just have to see one of my Buns sitting in a place they would not normally sit and I am............

I hope Bob is now back to his usual self :)

thanks jane, normally he pushes moo out the food bowl to get his kneb in it,but not this morning.anyway he's racing round the place +eating his apple-i can hear him crunching it in the other room, ahh what a beautiful sound!
